Back Country Haze explores the shifting atmosphere of the Australian outback through an abstract language of colour, texture and gesture. Warm ochres and burnt earth tones dissolve into deep smoky browns and muted rust, evoking a landscape softened by distance, heat and haze.
Built through layers of texture and acrylic paint , the surface carries an organic, weathered quality reminiscent of the natural elements. Rather than representing a particular place, the work seeks to capture the feeling of the landscape — expansive, grounded and moody.
